Kids busy expressing their creativity in clay.

There is something magical about children when they are thinking and working creatively. We at Mud Slingers try to create an environment that encourages students to express themselves freely and inspires creativity and self expression. Students can discover their artistic ability as they experiment with a variety of hand building techniques. They learn to think about their ideas and apply them to the shape and structure of their creations. We want to inspire the young people to enjoy the pride that comes with accomplishment and the joy of working and cooperating with others.

Students will be taught the history of pottery and will have some hands-on experience throwing on the wheel. During this six-week class, students will explore handbuilding construction techniques, as well as experimenting with shapes, texture and glazes. Each child will complete several decorative and functional pottery pieces. More challenging work will be assigned to students with previous experience.

Parent/Child Class
Mud Slingers Pottery & Glass has had requests for classes for the Younger Kids - 4-7 years. This would be a parent & child, one session for about 1 1/2 hours to create and paint a small item. Please email us if you are interested - mudslingerspottery@carolina.rr.com
